To start an architecture firm, you will have a minimal number of costs. Here are what I believe to be the most basic things you need to have in place:
- Software of your choice in order to complete the work. In the not so long ago ‘old days, there would have been a requirement for a drafting table. Now, it is a computer. In the computer, you need software. That software is:
- Microsoft suite
- Adobe CC
- Cell Phone
- Revit / AutoCAD
- Norton
- You need to have a way of communicating to others that you exist. This communication is completed on the internet by way of a website. I use Bluehost / WordPress for the hosting and content management. Costs are:
- Hosting
- Internet Access
- You need to have a business phone. I use Ring Central.
- Cheap E & O Insurance through Hiscox
In all, the total per year startup costs are $10,000.00 But, more than that if you hire people at an office location you rent or own.
